Simply said, Chapel of the Chimes is stunning. And pictures will do more justice than words in this case. The building was created in 1909 and then was redesigned in 1928 by Julia Morgan, the architect for Hearst Castle. Chapel of the Chimes is an active columbarium, and what looks like books in a library are actually urns. It’s been designated a Historic Landmark Building located and is located at 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611.
I went close to closing and was only able to take a few photos, I will have to go back.
